Thomas Gann, educated at Oxford, was rector of the Church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas in Saunderton, England in 1466.
Ganns immigrated to the American colonies early, where they were perhaps a part of the Jamestown Colony, the very first permanent English settlement in America.
Other Ganns living in America during the colonial period include a John who settled on Long Island, New York, by 1636; a John who was in St. Mary's County, Maryland by 1710; and a third John Gann, a native of Germany, who was in Upper Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, by 1765.

After the death of John Gann, an inquisition was taken at Sleford in the county of Lincolnshire ”of the fifth day of the month of November in the eighteenth year of the reign of King Henry VIII” [1516-1517].
From testimony of several witnesses, they named a certain Thomas Gann, chaplain, and others who were “seized of” (possessed) one messuage (dwelling house) and twelve and one-half acres of arable land in the town and fields of Stowe, a few miles northwest of the modern day city of Lincoln.
The inquisition further stated that John Gann had a son, William Gann, who was his next heir and was of the age of 21 and more.

E 2187 measures the capability of a cigarette, positioned on one of three standard substrates, to generate sufficient heat to continue burning and thus potentially cause ignition of bedding or upholstered furniture.
It’s milestone legislation, says Thomas Fritz, the chairman of ASTM Committee E05 on Fire Standards who approved the method with other committee members.

In a recent decision, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit found that an employer is insulated from liability under sexual harassment claims if the employer has developed a comprehensive sexual harassment policy, communicated this policy to employees, and enforced the policy.
Gann was promoted to chief of dentistry in August 1994.
The investigative team concluded that neither party had been entirely truthful about the incidents and that though Gann's actions were inappropriate and unprofessional, they did not meet the legal definition of sexual harassment.

The recent history of Xunantunich began in the late 1800's, when it was explored by a British medical officer named Thomas Gann.
The first known photograph of the site was taken in 1904 and displayed in the Peabody Museum of Archaeology, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for many years.
Nothing further was done until Gann returned in 1924, at which time he reportedly unearthed many Maya treasures.

He had a younger brother who he called Etter, this brother disappeared when he was a young man. His parents were Enoch Thomas Gann, and his mother was Ruthie Angeline Parsons.
Talking to older family members, they say he could not be located at the death of his Mother in 1934, but the next year or so he appeared back in Arkansas, he left again, never to be seen or heard from again.
