CONGRESSMAN THOMAS M. Congressman Tom Barrett was born on December 8, 1953 on the Westside of Milwaukee.
In 1992, Barrett was elected to represent the Fifth District in Congress, and took office in January, 1993.
After receiving his law degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1980, Barrett clerked for Federal Judge Robert Warren, then went on to private practice, specializing in business law at the Milwaukee firm of Smith & O'Neil from 1982 to 1985.
