During his lifetime, he was self-employed as a lawyer and by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, for which he obtained the 'right of way' for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
He was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh.
