		My thought was to have a simple white background with portraits of Thomas and John Knoll on the cover.
		I had already shot a portrait of Thomas and I figured getting this on the cover would be a great excuse for John to let me shoot his portrait.

	NEWS! - Nikon encrypts RAW file data
		Thomas Knoll is currently the chief engineer for Adobe Camera Raw, the company's RAW file conversion software.
		Knoll in Adobe's official user forums, where he reveals that.NEF RAW files from the latest Nikon digital SLRs encrypt data relating to the white balance setting the photo was shot with.
		Knoll states that while Adobe has signed a non-disclosure agreement that grants them access to use Nikon's SDK, they have not received any response to requests from Adobe that the company be allowed to decrypt the white balance data, which would allow closer integration with their software than is possible with the SDK.

	Rob Galbraith DPI: Thomas Knoll clarifies ACR support for D2X, 350D/Rebel XT
		In a post on the Adobe User to User forums (registration required), Photoshop-creator Thomas Knoll has explained how and when support for NEF files from the Nikon D2X and raw files from the Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT will be rolled out in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).
		Knoll indicates that ACR version 3.1, with support for the two cameras in question, is scheduled to be available for download from Adobe's web site in early May.
		Knoll also points out that users of the current version of Photoshop CS and ACR 2.4 will have an option for opening D2X and 350D/Rebel XT raw files.

		On my recent workshop in Iceland (July, 2003) I had a fascinating chat with Thomas Knoll about signal to noise ratios in digital photography.
