Thomas accompanied Richard to Ireland in September 1394, and on his return was commissioned with others to negotiate a long truce with France and a marriage for the king with Isabella, daughter of Charles VI of France.
Thomas was out of England from the end of February until the latter part of June on a foreign mission, but returned to serve as one of the instruments of Richard's revenge on Gloucester, Arundel and Warwick, his fellow-appellants of 1388.
Thomas' share of the lands of Arundel and Warwick, and all his offices were declared forfeited, because he had resisted the abrogation of the acts of the 'Merciless Parliament; and failed in his duty as an appellant.

I have a copy of a marriage license from Amherst County Virginia for a Thomas Mowbray, married to Bettie Minor on 14 Oct 1886.
Place of birth for Thomas Mowbray is given as Scotland, and his parents are Thomas and Isabella Mowbray.
This is the first 19th century Mowbray in Virginia that I've come across who does not seem to have any connection to the family of Andrew and Judith Mowbray.

Thomas Mowbray was exiled his eldest son was executed by Henry IV for treason in 1405 and the castle passed to John 7th Lord Mowbray who died 1475 leaving a young heiress Anne who was given in marriage (age only 6) to Richard one of the young princes killed in the tower in 1483.
Sir Thomas was a member of the party that travelled to Scotland to ask James VI of Scotland to become James I of England after the Queens death.

He was created earl of Nottingham in 1383, and in 1385 he was made earl marshal of England for life.
He joined Thomas of Woodstock, duke of Gloucester, and the other baronial opponents of Richard II in 1387 and was one of the five lords appellant who “appealed” (i.e., accused) the king’s favorites of treason and secured their conviction in the Merciless Parliament of 1388.
After Richard regained control in 1389, however, he was conciliatory to Nottingham, who accompanied him to Ireland in 1394.

This opposition to Henry led Archbishop Scrope to become involved with Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland and Thomas Mowbray, the Earl Marshall, in leading an armed uprising against the king in the spring of 1405.
