Thomas Trowbridge, of Devonshire, died March 15, 1570, seized of Loxbear, Tiverton and Calwodley in Washfield, Bycott and Easturn.
Thomas Trowbridge died in Taunton, England, February 7, 1672-73, and soon afterward Gibbons gave to the sons a deed of everything he had, even to the bed he slept on, in an endeavor to make good the property of the family.
The wife of Thomas Trowbridge was Elizabeth Marshall, and their sons were; 1 Thomas, born in 1632, at Taunton, England.

Sir Thomas Troubridge, from the painting by Sir William Beechey.
He then served in the Mediterranean and was created a baronet in 1799; from 1801 to 1804 he was a Lord of the Admiralty, being made a Rear-Admiral just before his retirement.
In 1805 Troubridge was appointed to command the eastern half of the East Indies Station and he went out in the Blenheim.

From 1787, an increasingly influential Company investor was the banker Francis Baring, who has chairman of the Company in the 1790s who took a dim view of London-based whalers operating in the Pacific, perhaps engaging in trade illicit from the Company point of view.
The figure who became "the family banker of the Macarthurs", the wool-producing family of Parramatta near Sydney, was Walter Stephenson Davidson, who spent many of his early years in the East, is still little-known.
