	Thorgal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Thorgal is a Belgian comic book series by the Belgian author Jean Van Hamme and the Polish artist Grzegorz Rosinski.
		The main character is Thorgal Aegirsson, who is found as a baby in some sort of stasis capsule by the Viking chieftain Leif Haraldson after his ship is torn to pieces by the elements of the Atlantic Ocean.
		What the world does not know, save for a few, is that Thorgal is the soon-to-be last survivor of a highly intelligent group of space-farers, that are capable of psionics — changing the molecular composition of materials — powers that Thorgal himself does not have.

		As contradictory as it sounds, Thorgal has rationalized that it's not really him that kills his son, but his doppelganger.
		Thorgal's Quest is an adventure "on rails." While visually it's three-dimensional, the game itself is pretty much one-dimensional: you either follow the path or are forced to follow it.
		Controlling Thorgal is done using the classic point-and-click method adventure gamers have become accustomed to, despite the game’s use of a 3D environment.

		It didn't really have much at all to do with Atlantis (although I have no doubt Thorgal was voiced by the same person that visited Atlantis in all those other games); but there was certainly a quest.
		Some roaming round the net on my part elicited the information that Thorgal Aegirsson is a character from a popular European comic book series, and a nice in game touch is that a comic book journal keeps track of the unfolding events.
		Curse of Atlantis: Thorgal's Quest took about 10 hours and was not unenjoyable, but nor did it reach any great heights.

		En fait, Thorgal brille par sa quasi absence tout au long du récit et le plus surprenant est qu’il ne nous manque pas tellement.
		Pour la première fois depuis longtemps, les auteurs osent nous présenter des plans parfois étonnamment complexes, comme ce double naufrage simultané de Thorgal et nos héroïnes, ou encore les combats intérieurs de Kriss lorsqu’il est question de son enfant qu’elle doit protéger tout en affichant une image de guerrière indépendante sans lendemain.
		D’ailleurs, aucune allusion n’est faite dans le récit aux origines extra-terrestres/atlantes/canines (blague) de Thorgal, un peu comme si les auteurs avaient réalisé à quel point leur personnage dérapait à force de le transformer en Highlander.

		Though the back story surrounding Curse of Atlantis: Thorgal's Quest was interesting to a point, it didn't make up for the game's less than stellar gameplay or its low budget graphics.
		While trying to make his way back home, our protagonist is shown a horrific vision of a possible future where his son is slain in cold blood in front of his family.
		In order to return to his family and hopefully prevent the tragedy, Thorgal must battle mythical creatures, outwit devious bandits, and piece together a mystery that will bring the pieces of the warriors' past, present, and future together in a way that no one could imagine.

		Un autre truc qui ne colle pas dans Thorgal, mais il faudra que je révérifie quand même, c'est que Slyve, dans l'Ile des mers Gelées, annonce, il me semble, que le vaisseau s'est écrasé il y a plusieurs générations.
		Or d'après l'Enfant des Etoiles, il n'y a manifestement qu'une génération de décalage entre l'arrivée du vaisseau, et le début des aventures de Thorgal....
