The stair tower was also built at this time and the fact that it throws out the symmetry of what is now the principle elevation is one reason for believing that the early 17th century house originally faced north.

Schoeller’s party approached their objective via the E fork of the Chaba River, and then followed the E Chaba glacier to the W ridge, which they ascended to the summit, block and then followed the S ridge to the summit.
Thorington named these peaks in 1931 due to the fact they are indeed the watershed.

North Twin (Peak) is one of the two peaks that comprise The Twins massif located at the northeast corner of the Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.
The nearly vertical north face drops over 1500 metres from Twins Tower to the Athabasca River (The true summit of North Twin is somewhat removed from the top of the north face).
It has only been climbed by three parties: George Lowe and Chris Jones in 1974; Barry Blanchard and Dave Cheesmond (via the North Pillar) in 1985; and Steve House and Marko Prezelj via a variation, in winter, of the Lowe-Jones route (account here) in 2004.

The round tower at Bramfield is over thirteen metres high with a wall thickness of over a metre and houses five bells, three of which date from 1440.

This Norman tower sets the scene for some ‘show’ Victorian Norman in the tower arch and west window, which are truly awful.
This is a shame as the tower is handsome, with a band of blank windows or arches around the middle of the tower and a brick, and a 16th century stepped-embattled parapet.
Two many trees mean you can easily miss the church and once found you cannot take a good picture!
