		The tree cover is heavy, and one of the pleasures of idling away a summer's afternoon in the park is the sharp contrast between deep shade and the bright sunlight which pierces the cover in occasional shafts or, having brightly illuminated the upper leaves of the trees, gets lost in the heavy foliage.
		When the leaves fall the park is of course one of the better places to go to kick leaves in a city where most downtown streets are pretty good places to kick leaves.
