	FOIA Guide, 2004 Edition: Exemption 7
		Under this revised Exemption 7 structure, an analysis of whether a record was protected by this exemption involved two steps: First, the record had to qualify as an "investigatory record compiled for law enforcement purposes"; second, its disclosure had to be found to threaten one of the enumerated harms of Exemption 7's six subparts.
		In making their determinations of threshold Exemption 7 applicability, agencies should focus on the content and compilation purpose of each item of information involved, regardless of the overall character of the record in which it happens to be maintained.
		Even records generated pursuant to routine agency activities that previously could not be regarded as "investigatory" now should qualify for Exemption 7 protection when those activities involve a law enforcement purpose.

	UBC Law: Faculty Publications
		Factors to be considered in designing a threshold test are 1) the probative value of the records, 2) the reliability of the records, 3) the operation of discriminatory beliefs, 4) the necessity of disclosure, and 5) identification of the material issues.
		For instance, the legislation might provide that therapists' records would be privileged unless the accused could show access to the records met a high threshold test such as disclosure is necessary to show his or her own innocence or the information is capable of affecting the outcome of the trial.
		The records here in question are not within the possession or control of the Crown, do not form part of the Crown's "case to meet", and were created by a third party for a purpose unrelated to the investigation or prosecution of the offence.

	Progress Records
		It's partly really hard and offensive but melody and choral singing is one of Thresholds trademarks, and they never compromise with those parts.
		Threshold isn't a typical "prog-metal" band, even though they can't be categorised differently.
		Although original member Ken Hensley today says that the album was a bit rushed and instead wanted it to be a concept album, the songs are all very strong and the balance in variations between them is excellent.

		Warp Records, meanwhile, was for quite awhile the most important and progressive group in electronic music, and while I haven't been paying enough attention as of late to know if they still hold this label, I know for certain they continue to push the boundaries of the art.
		Non-DRM encumbered music, high quality recordings, and good music are a big draw for me. Being able to preview and play through bands and genres that I might otherwise not hear on the radio is an even bigger draw.
		Warp records (and Brian Behlendorf, head of the Apache project [apache.org]!) are even responsible for the name of the genre on the label.

		I find it a bit curious and well ludicrous that our overpaid legislators would be so concerned over incorrect or false information on whois records but allow for the falisification of caller ID [slashdot.org] on our telephones.

		Los Angeles News Service ("LANS") recorded newsworthy events on videotape and licensed television stations and networks to use all or segments of the unedited ("raw") footage in edited broadcast news stories.
		Universal brought an action against Sony alleging that video tape recorder (VTRs) consumers had been recording some of Universal's copyrighted works that had been exhibited on commercially sponsored television and thereby infringed on their copyrights, and further that Sony was liable for such copyright infringement because of their marketing of the VTRs.
		The term of the copyright as to the notes or improvements, is computed from the time of recording the title thereof, and not from the time of recording the title of the original work.

	New Gibraltar Encyclopedia of Progressive Rock TO-TW
		I wouldn't dream of buying a dub record, but this is pretty cool because it contrasts with what they otherwise do, and probably 'cause it's all very new to me. This is my favourite Tortoise album, but also very different from earlier releases.
		Evidently a live recording, "(after only two rehearsals), much to the disappointment of about 100 spectators", this is an album of guitar, drums, sax and keyboards doing improvisational RIO music.
		It was recorded at the time of the other songs but was not included because it would have made the LP too long.
