		Throwdown have been the Orange County, California hardcore scene’s flagship band since 1997, grabbing the torch lit by the seminal OC punk bands of the ‘80s and early ‘90s and carrying it to heretofore uncharted heights.
		What’s allowed Throwdown to persist and endure is the urgency of their music and a fiercely loyal dedication to their relationships with their friends, their fans and each other.
		A Throwdown show is a sweaty display of solidarity between brothers and sisters, united through their diversity and a celebration of independent thought free from mainstream constraints.

	Throwdown (2004)
		Unlike nearly all commercial film made in the whole wide world, Throwdown is a movie of that asks the viewer to pretty much absorb what's happening and to draw their own conclusions.
		Again, Throwdown does not do much work for the audience, but the sheer amount of work it doesn't do could be overwhelming for someone who really enjoyed, say, Moving Targets.
		Throwdown is loaded with cinematic set pieces and moments of offhand coolness which simply leap from the screen, and Johnnie To dispenses much of it with layer upon layer of keen storytelling style.

		The replays at the end of each round are however a nice touch and instead of selecting random action, they seem to pick up on the genuine match highlights such as devastating combos and clinical counters.
		Initially a quick exhibition match or two serve to suggest that combat in Throwdown is simply a case of ‘ground and pound’ to a bloody knock out, where fights can finish in literally seconds.
		UFC Throwdown is far from perfect with niggly little flaws in nearly all departments.
