 Hue (city)
The city itself is located in the central regions of Vietnam, and is the capital city of Thua Thien-Hue province.
Hue originally rose to prominence as the principle city of the Nguyễn family, a feudal dynasty which dominated much of southern Vietnam.
After the war's conclusion, many of the historic features of Hue were neglected, being seen by the victorious Communists as a "relic of the feudal system", but there has since been a change of policy, and much of the historic city has been restored.

HUE — Authorities in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue expect to contribute VND1 trillion annually to the State budget in the next few years, said Ho Xuan Man, secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

 Remote villages get $31.8m helping hand
THUA THIEN-HUE— Two central provinces have received aid to combat poverty among ethnic minorities living in remote mountainous areas from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
Speaking at a meeting to launch the project on Monday, deputy chairman of Thua Thien- Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, and project co-ordinators pledged to implement the project effectively.
The province has also poured money from other poverty alleviation funds into planting orchards in eight districts, improving cultivated soil, reclaiming land for vegetable cultivation, and shifting inefficient rice growing fields into aquaculture.
