To date, the Air Force's refusal to release any information concerning the toxic or radioactive inventory of the bombs or the B-52 continues to stymie Danish hopes of pinpointing the cause of the workers' illnesses.

References......Due to the nature of the King Bird Story, it is very difficult to "name names", as most of the sources are military or government, and would therefore be in a considerable amount of danger, if their identities were known.
It is definitely not beyond the realm of possibility that a UFO strayed into the assigned air space of the base and ignored radio warnings to stand clear when spotted on radar.
The next logical step taken by the authorities of the base would be to send up fighter planes to escort the craft out of the area.

A ski landing was made on the snow at the site, where the temperature was 45 degrees F. During preparation for departure, the No. 4 engine had a "hot start." The crew was unable to control the engine's temperature and the turbine was damaged.
Consequently, a three-engine ski takeoff was made with a gross weight of 100,000 lbs., which required a takeoff run of approximately 5000 ft. on the snow.
With the aircraft and paper work back in order, the task force departed for Sondrestrom Air Force Base in southern Greenland, which would be their operational base for ski tests on the ice cap.
