		Thunder are an English hard rock band, who originally formed in 1989 when Terraplane broke up, leaving lead singer Danny Bowes and guitarist/main songwriter Luke Morley to form a new band, namely Thunder.
		This period was the most turbulent in the band's career; Snake quit the band after the subsequent tour and was replaced by Swedish bass player Mikael Höglund.
		This album was released to coincide with the band's tenth anniversary; however they announced in autumn 1999 that they were to split, much to the dismay of their fanbase, many of whom had followed them from the beginning.

		With this the UB Pep Band was born.
		The "Thunder of the East" started its second season in the fall of 2000 with new uniforms provided by a grant from the John R. Oshei Foundation and new silver instruments from the Seymour H. Knox Foundation.

		The band's debut album 'Back Street Symphony', recorded in October 1989 and produced by ex-DURAN DURAN guitarist ANDY TAYLOR (who, ironically, had released a solo album titled 'Thunder' in 1987) was issued by EMI in Britan and released through Capitol Records in the America during 1990 but received minimal promotion Stateside.
		Nevertheless, THUNDER debuted in America with a performance at the Cathouse Club in New York and, as THUNDER's profile rose in Britain a deal with Geffen Records was negotiated and the company re-launched the debut album in America in 1991with a different sleeve.
		THUNDER made another major mark in the Summer of 1997 with their appearance at the KISS headlined 'summer In The Park' festival.

		The University Bands became part of the Department of Music with the leadership of Professors Edgar Lewis and Charles Seltenrich and served as entertainment for college athletics rather than military ceremonial needs.
		The Pep Band travels each year to the Mountain West Conference tournament and also accompanied the team to the NCAA tournament in 1981, 1988, 1989, 2002, as well as the NIT appearance in New York City in 1986.

		I think it's very hard for rock bands in the UK right now as most people working at the labels don't understand rock on many levels; musically, how to market it, the touring principle etc. I wish Kick good luck with their new album though.
		Tribute bands aren't really my thing but Chris Childs (former Thunder bassist and the man who plays on our new album) is currently playing with them so Harry and I went down to say hello and have a couple of beers.
		I was just wondering whether any of them were written when Thunder were still a going concern but that you felt, for whatever reason, that they didn't fit in the Thunder framework and you therefore kept them until the time was right.
