Thunderhill Park is a road racing course located 7 miles West of Willows, California on Hwy 162.
Thunderhill is owned and operated by the San Francisco Region of the SCCA.
The standard road course at Thunderhill Park is a 3.0 mile (4.83 km), 15 turn course, however the track is configurable and event organizers can configure the course as they see fit.

The park serves an integral role in providing winter range for ungulates and functions as a corridor for a host of species in the area.
In the early 1990’s, services to the park were discontinued, including deactivation of all entrance roads, day use amenities and campsites.

Thunderhill does allow convertibles with factory roll bars, hoops, and pop-ups.
Turn numbers are designated by the Thunderhill track, and are the same regardless of which way around the track you're driving.

Thunderhill is located near the town of Willows, which is about 85 miles north of Sacramento on Interstate 5.
Thunderhill as the AFM runs it is approximately 3 miles long, in a counter-clockwise direction.
There are a number of motels to choose from in Willows, as well as a number of restaurants, fast food, a grocery store, a couple of parts stores, and a Wal-Mart, etc. Chico or Sacramento probably have the closest motorcycle shops.

These are pictures from the driving school I attended at Thunderhill Park at Willows, CA.
Thunderhill is actually composed of a older "east" track, and a newer "west" track that are joined together.
On Saturday, the tracks were separated and one group ran on the east track, and another ran simultaneously on the west.

I knew he was entered in the 25 hour endurance race at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, CA that upcoming weekend, so I'd guessed it was regarding that.
Thunderhill Race Park is about 7 miles due west of Willows in the rolling foothills.
Hopefully civilization won't encroach upon it anytime soon, and they can continue to run their races there for decades to come.

On Monday December 4th, DEVEK sponsored their 2nd Driving Day at Thunderhill Park, 80 miles north of Sacramento, in the rolling hills 7 miles west of Willows, California.
All cars needed to sign in, and all drivers who were going onto the track had to fill out a special form/release and get banded.
I then parked and unload all my stuff (tools, jack and stands, water, oil, other fluids, etc.) on to a green tarp behind my car.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 1999, THUNDERHILL PARK--From the pole, Joey Hand won his fifth race in the Star Mazda Series West Division championship, leading Stacy Suspension System (S3) teammates Alan Benson and Tophie (short for Christopher) Stewart to the checker.
Hand, 20, jumped into an early lead and was immediately challenged by second-fast qualifier Tom Enoch, but eventually pulled away to more than a 13-second lead after Enoch spun off course in the Turn Eight/Nine sequence of the challenging 3-mile road course.

The accompanying table of sound readings was taken at Thunderhill Park on October 26th, 2002 and is ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS.
So far, Thunderhill Park is only using the handheld meter to verify very loud cars and the lack of any muffling device at all (they define over 103 dBA on their meter as very loud).
The readings from Thunderhill show that 103dBA is pretty straightforward to meet.

 Thunderhill track event rules/tips
A way to check for rear disk warp is to find a safe wide open place, like a deserted parking lot, and at maybe 20-25 mph slowly apply the rear parking brake with the car in neutral.
BE sure to have your hand on the parking brake release at the same time (if only Ford had put a proper HAND brake in our SHO's!) so you can release it if necessary.
