Ravenscroft's image actually appears on one of the singing busts and is often mistaken for the visage of Walt Disney.

Ravenscroft became the narrator for the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach in 1974, beginning what he described as a "labor of love" that lasted 20 years.
To Pageant audiences during his 20 years as our narrator (1974-1993), Thurl was revered as "the voice of the Pageant," but to everyone who worked with him behind the scenes, he was a magnificent spirit, generous, gentle and kind to a fault.
