  Thursday (band)
Thursday is a post-hardcore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, formed in 1997.
Thursday emerged from the underground indie scene at the turn of the 21st century, attracting the attention of Victory Records.
Thursday will also be doing some small shows around the country in an attempt to hold on to their DIY roots.

Thursday (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thursday is a post-hardcore/emocore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey who have released four full-length albums: Waiting (2000 Eyeball Records), Full Collapse (2001 Victory Records), War All The Time (2003 Island Records), and A City By The Light Divided (2006 Island Records).
The band's relationship with Victory Records would be a troubled one, as the band and the label rarely saw eye to eye.
Thursday finished up their follow-up to Waiting, Full Collapse, but could not release it the way they intended; Victory Records claimed the band's lyrics were unimportant and not worth the extra packaging.

 Thursday Online | Version Five
Thursday’s music shimmers with sincerity, but this is a troupe that will spontaneously quote lyrics of their hardcore faves in mid-conversation.
Thursday’s music is push and pull, tension and release, and sing-scream harmonies, with the songs functioning as modes of communication, where the band and its listeners exchange thoughts and feelings through the vibrations of the instruments and the lyrics.
Thursday's music has an effect on its listeners; it not only moves them on a musical level, but it conjures up feelings and emotions that can only be captured through sincere music that comes from the outpouring of a dismal heart.

Technique - 2006-06-02 - Thursday delivers solid benefit show   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Thursday's fans in Atlanta seem to be no exception. On May 16, the New Brunswick rockers played a show at The Loft as part of the Shirts for a Cure Tour, along with We're All Broken, Me Without You and Minus the Bear.
Thursday had been touring with Beemer since the middle of March, with the culmination of their involvement with the Shirts for a Cure Tour coinciding with the release of their fourth album, A City by the Light Divided which has met with some mixed reactions from fans, according to Keeley.
Indeed, the freedom the band seemed to experience in the recording studio is quite apparent on the album, which has much more of a live vibe than their previous albums, and there's no better way to appreciate what Thursday can really do than to hear them just plug in and go with it.

 Rick Danko Band Band Reviews
Rick was a great talent - his importance to the success of The Band and their place in history was clearly understated/unrecognized during their salad days and beyond.
While Randy Ciarlantes drums are plausable and his singing on Chest Fever is decent (although a far cry from the late Richard Manuels), Levon would have brought the glue to hold the music together, especially in the beginning of the numbers.
The Band may truely be one for the ages, and down its final road.

Thursday: A City By The Light Divided - PopMatters Music Review
Since then they’ve lost that mantle—Taking Back Sunday is now MTV’s screamo band of choice—but it’s been faith-affirming for a music critic to listen to a band like Thursday meet early success, break the gates open for their own genre, and yet refuse to settle into the comfortable formula they pioneered.
The biggest knock against Thursday (and screamo in general, I suppose) has always been the lack of melodicism, and Rickley’s newfound ability to hit notes (there’s a vocal coach in the credits, if that explains any) suddenly shores up their biggest musical weakness.
Thursday most amply displays their creative edge when they transform what is seemingly the throwback screamo track of the album—“At This Velocity”—into pretty, melodic pop halfway through the song.

I’m in no way comparing Thursday to Lifetime, but I am in a way, trying to say that Thursday is the Lifetime of a younger generation.
For this reason I don’t believe that there is an “Old Thursday” or a “New Thursday” but merely one band with many beautiful sounds and the ability to mix words and notes and rhythms into something really special in a way that makes Thursday a band above most others.
