Bithyni - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bithyni were a Thracian tribe who, along with the Thyni, migrated to Bithynia in Anatolia - a region which they gave their name to.
Herodotus, Xenophon and Strabo all assert that the Bithyni and Thyni settled together in what would be known as Bithynia and Thynia.
According to Herodotus, the Bithynian Thracians originally lived along the Strymon river, and were known as Strymonians.

 Bithynia - LoveToKnow 1911
The existence of a tribe called Thyni in Thrace is well attested, and the two cognate tribes of the Thyni and Bithyni appear to have settled simultaneously in the adjoining parts of Asia, where they expelled or subdued the Mysians, Caucones, and other petty tribes, the Mariandyni alone maintaining themselves in the northeast.
Herodotus mentions the Thyni and Bithyni as existing side by side; but ultimately the latter must have become the more important, as they gave their name to the country.
They were incorporated by Croesus with the Lydian monarchy, with which they fell under the dominion of Persia (546 B.C.), and were included in the satrapy of Phrygia, which comprised all the countries up to the Hellespont and Bosporus.

 Kalaa Studios - Morafic
In 1993 my parents kindly agreed to buy me a dog as a gift for my 18th birthday.
With the help of my friend Susannah Thyni I acquired a golden Saluki dog named Caravan's La'if Morafiq, or Morafic for short.
I had decided upon this name as it is Arabic for 'friend' or 'companion', which I felt was an appropriate name for this little life that had been given into my care.I picked him up on a beautiful spring day - May 10th 1993.

 Golden Apples of Idun
This hypothesis then led me to consider that Odin was rooted also in the Bithynians (beside Phrygia and Lydia), as it seems to me a good theory that the Boudini were the same peoples as the Bithyni.
It is common opinion that the Bithynians were of the Thyni of Thrace (over-looking the Bithyni of Phrygia).
the Jutes, while the Jutes were from the Edonians of Thrace, a further conclusion is that the Thyni were related to the Edonians.

The youngest baby in the family is my Azawakh male, affectionately known as Kermit.
Long-time friend Susannah Kemp (formerly Thyni) introduced me to her stunning Azawakh bitch Mouli de Garde-Epee (aka Lisen) some years ago, and I fell head over heels in love with the breed.
I promptly put myself on the waiting list for a future puppy, and after several years of waiting Kermit was born on April 27th 2003.

Best even suggests that their success led to the adoption of this tactic by the Greeks, and the disastrous night attack on Syracuse by Demosthenes.
Xenophon (Anabasis VII, 2) praises the Thyni: "Teres, with a large army, was said to have had his baggage train taken from him by the natives, who are called Thyni and are supposed to be the most dangerous of all the tribes, especially at night fighting." The Thyni lived in south-eastern Thrace.
The Anabasis [7.4.14] continues "...All this happened during the day, but in the night that followed the Thynians issued from the mountain and made an attack.

 Bias Will be Boiis
As the Phrygians were called "Bryges," perhaps "Bebreces" is to be understood as a Boi branch of Phrygians, which to myth writers was Boi/Bee-Phrygia when reduced to play on words...which is why they called the mother of these Phrygians, "honey." As Bithynians were also called "Thyni," perhaps "Bithynia" is to be understood as Boi-Thyni.
as with "Miletus" meaning both honey or apple, the Thyni, whom I think were the Golden Apples of Idun, were also depicted as bees.
Perhaps Bebreces is to be connected to Bibracte in central France, where a Gaul empire grew up among its people, the "Eduens/Aedui" (I haven't yet sought for connections to the Edonians and/or the Eotens/Jutes).
