TIGER research has shown that both temperatures and air pollution have significant effects on emissions from northern wetlands; warming increases emissions while deposition of nitrates and sulphates reduces them.
TIGER experiments have shown oxidation rates to be very different in marine air and continental air, and to be strongly influenced by pollutant concentrations.

The units that recieved the Tiger IIs were heavy tank battalions of both the SS and Heer.
Although the armour on the Tiger II was inferior to that of the earlier Panzers in terms of quality, the thick, sloped armour prevented penetration.
This meant that most Allied guns would have to be close to the Tiger II before they had a chance of penetrating the armour, which of course put them at a great risk of being knocked out as well.

German King Tiger tank - development history and photos
Although the designation implies that the Tiger II is a succession of the Tiger 1, it is in effect a completely different tank.
As with the Tiger tank, it was to mount an 88mm anti tank gun but the main gun on the Tiger II was far more powerful than that on the Tiger 1.
The Tiger II with the model 43 has a length of 71 calibers (71 times 88mm) as compared with 56 calibers of the Tiger 1 with model 36.

Instead, the Tiger I carried the shorter L/56 model (the number referring to the gun’s caliber, a multiplier of the bore to equal the barrel’s length: thus the L/56 cannon was 4.928 meters long and the L/71 a stunning 6.248 meters).
When the Tiger II was hit by a smoke or phosphorous round, those massive cooling fans would suck the gasses through those gaps and into the tank’s fighting compartment.
The Tiger II also lacked an electric traverse for its turret: The huge armored box and its very long cannon had to be cranked around by hand.

Tiger I was armed with powerful 88mm gun (originally developed from 88mm Flak 36 L/56 gun) that made it a very dangerous opponent for any Allied tank, and its thick (but not shot deflecting) armor made it virtually indestructible.
Tiger's turret housed 88mm gun, which was offset to the right and was mounted on a turret ring with 185cm diameter.

Tiger II (King Tiger) Main battle tank (MBT)
The final development of the Tiger MBT, the Tiger II or King Tiger was the most powerful tank on the battlefield in the Second World War.
The final tank looked like the Panther but had many features of the Tiger E. The Tiger II was an extremely powerful tank combining heavy armour (virtually impenetrable front armour) and a lethal 88mm gun, but it was slow to build and very difficult to maintain.
The Tiger II was the heaviest tank in active service during World War II and a fore runner of the modern MBT, weighing in at nearly 71 tonnes (69.7tons) with a top speed of 37.8Km/h(23.5mph) it saw action on the Eastern Front in May 1944 and on the Western Front in August 1944.

These tests demontsrates two facts - the Tiger was a real problem in 1943, and AP rounds had improved considerably by 1945 - if it hit at the right angle, a 17 pounder round could defeat the armour on the turret at over 1000 yards range.
The coverage of the inside and outside of the Tiger B is exhaustive and the many detail items that are important to modellers are fully described including features such as tracks, hatches, turret.

The Tiger II had extremely thick armor that were also well-sloped, and a long-barrelled high-velocity 88mm KwK 43 L/71.
In addition, the Tiger II was just as vulnerable to aerial attacks by fighter-bombers, and its size made it hard to hide.
