Since he founded it in early 2000, the Kid has moved towards establishing Tigerbeat6 as a top purveyor of the more offbeat side of electronic music with releases such as a three-inch CD tribute to N.W.A. Look for lots more to come in the future.
Blectum from Blechdom is San Francisco's purposefully androgynous duo that painfully (and successfully) straddles the expansive gulf between the technocratic aesthetics of electronic music and the art school scruff of indie punk.
Her blend of minimal electronics and voice is simple in structure, yet touching and beautiful to the core.

Within the movement, a number of self-aware artists are energizing glitch by thinking of it less as a movement and more as a vital style that needn't be joyless to be progressive.
Among the scene's best are the artists featured on Superlongevity and Tigerbeat6 Inc., two double-disc compilations that capture glitch breaking out in different ways.
Comprising artists who record for the German label Perlon, Superlongevity trades on the die-cut snare taps and gummy grooves of microhouse, a genre that brings Germans' studious faith in mechanistic process to the spirited four-four thump of Chicago house.

Knifehandchop's music is released on vinyl and CD on a variety of labels, although Tigerbeat6 (Oakland, California) and Irritant (London, England) are the most recent, releasing 'Rockstopper' and 'Bling the Noize' respectively.
Promotion for the records was a 30-date tour of Europe and Japan in 2003, and a further 23 European shows this past May and June.
The first of the two tours saw him stop off to record a Peel Session for BBC Radio One, and he also recently recorded a Breezeblock session for the same station.

Tigerbeat6 Records - Label Profile - Stylus Magazine
Pick and choose any one of these reasonings and you have a justifiable answer as to why Tigerbeat6 was formed by Kid606 and Cex in the late 90s.
The future looks bright for the label as they continue to expand outside of normal IDM contstraints and release music that excites, rather than conforms.
While the ethos of punk dictates an eventual end to movements that are based merely on reaction, it seems that Tigerbeat6 is eclipsing this by evolving to serve the marketplace.

Stars as Eyes: Freedom Rock: Pitchfork Record Review
People in the Tigerbeat6 office are smirking right now, beaming with their usual self-assurance.
Listeners seem prone to a number of errant presumptions about Tigerbeat6 releases-- the most notable being that they're all of the same pedigree as the label's best known artists, Lesser and Kid606.
For our purposes, the most accurate comparisons actually point outside of the Tigerbeat6 camp: Arovane and other members of Morr Music's rota, My Bloody Valentine in their spacier moments, Manitoba and Four Tet, and, of course, Boards of Canada, to whom Stars as Eyes will inescapably be likened.

Drop the Lime - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He began performing under the alias Drop The Lime in 2003, exploding into the punk electronic scene known as Breakcore, gaining an underground audience.
Drop The Lime has released numerous international singles and EP's on labels such as Ambush, Peace Off, Broklyn Beats, Mirex, and Tigerbeat6.
From Breakcore's hyper-kinetic beats and DJ'ing heavy bass music from Grime to Baltimore Club and 4x4, DTL took a floor shattering step into a club massive sound.

 Grooves Magazine - Preyers
Its music might appropriate some imaginary mid-point between 1980s’ Manchester and mid-1990s’ Montreal (all swirling synth drones, glacial analog pulses, hypnotic rants, and drum beats from the herky-jerk of new wave), but Clipd Beaks is originally a punk band from the Lowry Hill district of Minneapolis.
Noting the bleak and chilly nature of the band’s soundscapes, its subsequent relocation to sunny California and involvement with Tigerbeat6 might seem incongruous, but Preyers is nonetheless the work of a party band—albeit an oblique and anxiously charged one.
The bleak sense of alienation that permeates tracks like “No Horizons,” “Messd-Up Desert,” or “Nuclear Arab” comes out through the melancholy guitar drones and weeping shoegaze synth that often drown out the somewhat incoherent vocals, all of which is offset by the clipped, stuttering dance beats of drummer Ray Benjamin.

Tigerbeat6 is the home to such sonic terrorists as Blechdom from Blectum, Kid606, and Electric Company.
The group, however, fits more easily into the category of Cex's more softer brand of IDM, a pleasantly melodic and accesible version of IDM that reminds one of the output of the German labels City Centre Office and Morr Music.
Some of these features are exactly the opposite of what Tigerbeat6 seems to stand for, but the punk rock attitude of creating a kraut rock-IDM sound has Stars As Eyes charting their own course in the music world- which is, in fact, exactly what Tigerbeat6 stands for.

A perfect inclusion in the skewed electro lineup of Oakland's Tigerbeat6 label, Numbers thrash the dancefloor by tangling the limbs of new wave, no wave, punk, disco, garage, and synth-pop.The San Francisco trio was formed in 2000 by vocalist and drummer Indra Dunis and two ex-Xerobot members: guitarist Dave Broekema and keyboardist Eric Landmark.
The group's debut, Numbers Life, released on Tigerbeat6 in June of 2002, presents a band that's directly descended from Gang of Four and most closely related to labelmates Erase Errata and the U.K.'s Clinic.
Later in 2002, Numbers added to their catalog with a track on the Toyo 20 Seconds compilation, a split 7" with Lowdown called Nurses Help!, a split 3" CD with Erase Errata, and a track on The Beat Goes Off compilation, included with the June issue of The Wire.

I'm not sure I quite understand what Tigerbeat6 is wanting to do here with this release by Australian composer Paul Gough.
As IDM fell through the cracks of the electronic landscape many artists went back to its roots by applying what they have learned to House and Techno while others became more extreme focusing more on the improvisational aspects and the live performance of the music.
Immediately the album opens with "No Jazz For Jokers" which combines an indigenous rhythm with the most caustic trumpet sound which says all it needs to say in the first minute of the song before getting redundant.

The Austin Chronicle Music: Review - Stars As Eyes
Rhode Island expatriates Stars as Eyes are obviously cognizant of this prevailing attitude as they smash it to pieces with the dirty noise throb of "Important Youth Movement." Snaps and pops, cracks and hisses emerge out of the soup, marrying a Kreidler/Tarwater Teutonic aesthetic to the lo-fi rock grotto.
Those familiar with Tigerbeat6 Records, brainchild of young electro-fuzz delinquents Kid606 and Cex, won't be surprised at these primal outbursts, though they might be intrigued to learn that one of the label's strongest projects hails from our own back yard.
Don't let the noisy rep fool you, though; Enemy of Fun is full of soft, gentle piano and string samples, short phrases that coalesce into a sound that's comfortable and accessible, if a bit frayed at the edges.
