Tijuana Toads - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tijuana Toads was a series of 17 theatrical cartoons produced at DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and released through United Artists.
The series was about two toads, Toro and Pancho (in the Spanish-language version, Pancho y Rancho / in the German version, "Sancho und Pancho"), who live in the Mexican city of Tijuana.
NBC redubbed the Tijuana Toads cartoons and called them the Texas Toads to make the series sound less offensive some of the re-dubbed cartoons are seen on Boomerang as of January 2006.

In "Hop and Chop", the two toads started chasing around a Japanese Beetle, who later became a character in DFE's 6th theatrical series "The Blue Racer", and speaking of the fast blue snake, the Blue Racer also first appeared in TT in the episode "A Snake in the Gracias".

Tijuana is the largest city in the state of Baja California, Mexico.
Tijuana Bibles (also known as "eight-pagers") were pornographic comic books produced in the United States from the 1920s to the early 1960s.
It is also possible that the name is simply an ironic coinage, Tijuana being stereotypically seen in the US as uncivilized and debauched, while the Bible, perceived as the pinnacle of chaste morality, stands as far removed from pornography as possible.
