 | | Tikal National Park is administered by the Instituto de Antropologia e Historia.The biosphere reserve consists of a core area, cultural areas, areas of multiple use, a recovery area and a buffer zone (Lehnhoff Temme, 1990, WWF and IUCN, 1997). |
 | | Tikal National Park is 57,600ha, San Miguel La Palotada Biotope, 49,500ha, and Maya Biosphere Reserve,1,000,000ha. |
 | | The park forms a block to the south east of the Biosphere Reserve, adjacent to the San Miguel La Palotada Biotope to the west, and bounded in the south by a 10-15km wide Biosphere Reserve Buffer Zone to the south. |
