Tileagd (Hungarian: Mezõtelegd) is a large commune located in Bihor County, western Romania.
The closest town to Tileagd is Aleşd, 12 km away.
Tileagd is served by three CFR trains daily from Oradea, which continue to Aleşd, Huedin and Cluj-Napoca.

During World War II, Northern Transylvania (including Oradea) was ceded by Romania to Hungary as a result of the Vienna Award; this award was reversed at the war's end and the lands were returned to Romania.

After 2002, when Romania entered into an economic boom, many historical buildings in the city were restored to their previous state and currently, the city is endowed with a very historic and well-maintained feel.

 Finally at Wigton Methodist Church
When I arrived in Romania, the Smiles team took us round the different projects so we could get an idea of what had already been established.
We visited two children's centres, where children can escape from abusive families or simply get washed, an emergency housing shelter for families that are evicted from their homes, and in Tileagd we visited the school, nursery and gypsy community.
Apparently, last winter one family in the building was not able to pay their electricity bill and, as a result, the whole block of flats was cut off without electricity for the winter.

Christian singer Nia will be performing at St John the Baptist Church, West Street, Erith, this Saturday at 7.30pm, as part of her Making Smiles tour.

They are currently training Romanian and Roma staff in counselling skills, supporting individuals in ongoing training in counselling and play therapy and also providing therapeutic support for staff as and when they need it.
Smiles is in the process of appointing a full-time play leader to visit families in poverty, where she (or he) will encourage children to play and in some cases even teach them how to play.
They are also now available on a consultancy basis to help other organisations in Romania, including charities, to train their staff in counselling skills and to set up their own therapy services.

Since starting married life, Nia has been travelling the globe much less, however last year there was an opportunity for both Nia and Neil to visit Romania, to catch up with the work that The Smiles Foundation had been doing.
The Smiles Foundation continues to work in the hospital for abandoned babies and children, employing six child care assistants to support hospital staff in caring for the children.
Nia ably assisted with laying of concrete at the Tileagd Nursery and School.

As part of the renovation, an entire bathroom block was built, so the daily schedule includes, bath time, breakfast, lunch and lots of fun.
The Tileagd Children’s Centre has also achieved our objective of integrating Romanian and Gypsy children who now happily learn and play together every day.
