		I first became interested in Surgical Penis Klinik when their single "Meat Processing Section" came out in the summer last year (although it was recorded in their native Australia in 1979).
		Another case is a cut-up between several porno loops, hard core and the soft core that you get on advertisements, so we packed them all together, which is the state that you have in the so-called free society.
		Anyway Surgical Penis Klinik gigs are very thin on the ground to say the least - this was the only one they've done in England so far - so the best way to find out what they're like is to listen to their "Meat Processing Section" single which is still available on Industrial.

		Klinik is an industrial music band from Belgium, originally formed in 1981 or 1982 by EBM, electro-synthpop practitioner Marc Verhaeghen, who is the only constant member.
		The Klinik soon made a name for themselves with their cold and harsh EBM sound and their live shows, where both Ivens and Verhaeghen performed with their heads wrapped in gauze, wearing long fl leather coats.
		This, however, did not last forever; after Time, an album neither member was fully pleased with, musical differences became too great, and they decided to go their separate ways.

	Album Reviews
		The few times when things do pick up a bit, there is a nice, mellow folk flavor to the score, but even here the vibe is very relaxed and gentle.
		Empyrium are up next with one of the album's best, a truly refined composition that builds on delicate acoustic guitar and piano work to a crescendo that features some inspired grim vocals (in sharp contrast to the quiet, whispered vocals up to that point).
		If the whole album were confined to this style, it might prove a bit much, but he does a great job integrating it with the clean style of the session vocalist.

	Alfa Matrix, how do you feel about a KLINIK tribute cd?
		I honestly think KLINIK has been important and influential enough in our scene to have a tribute CD and I think that alfa-matrix, them being a Belgian label, would be the right label to do so.
		Klinik kick ass and I hope someone releases their back catalogue (and Portion Control too)...
		Puppy had a tribute album, Ministry, Coil, etc. Most of the bands like Cabs, 242, and SPK were doing this stuff years ahead of everyone else and are still involved in the scene making music, producing, or mixing!

	Album Reviews - Archive 1
		They use electronic drums and noisy guitar from time to time and they have a woman singing, but they are neither as dreamy and sensual as Curve or as aggressive and abrasive as Nine Inch Nails.
		This album isn't as bad as I made it out to be, but you can't listen to it without at least always wondering what is missing from the effort.
		It took a long time to really get into and appreciate this band and the six tunes contained herein are much less direct than the aforementioned "Duracell." The opening cut is a good indication of the band's style and demonstrates straight away that they're not content repeating the same-old EBM beats like labelmates Orange Sector.

		All told, Hawtin was responsible for the release of three albums and a good-sized EP in the span of just one year.
		That impressive schedule was shattered in 1995, when Hawtin was entangled in difficulties resulting from a sudden crackdown on his usual procedure of crossing the American border to perform.
		By the time he was able to return to America, he had changed his musical direction and eventually abandoned the Klinik album.

		But because when I was trying to record Klinik I had a number of interruptions and I went in and out of the studio and so really...
		But there is times when you still hear those records and that still gives you some kind of feeling or some kind of some kind of "wow, I haven't heard that before." And that's what a lot of people are trying to do.

		The time line is where i to the best of my recollection account for a lot of the major developments and events through out the history of the project knows as Velvet Acid Christ.
		The thing to note about this production period, is that there was one studio, and everyone had to share gear, this means everyone was rushing all the time, the mixer settings could not be changed, so one song at a time had to be completed, this meant people rushing and pressuring each other.
		Chris comes back and bryan decided to do a goth album in response to a bad break up with his gf, enter Fate.

		Depeche Mode have really gone on a remixing spree this time, and be warned, if you're a completist collector prepare to hand out the dough.
		Garbage are currently slaving away on their fourth studio album which has the working title of "Hands on a Hard Body".
		This album comes in a DVD-like package and features several unreleased tracks from Arcana's early days and includes newer works which have been created since "Inner Pale Sun", the latest studio album by Arcana.

	Haujobb Tribute album
		I didnt care for Mnemonic's first album, but holy hell is the new one good.
		The latest album is indeed an excellent release (The "Nahtot" EP is very good as well, grab it before it's gone at http://shop.alfa-matrix.com), note the tracks were Sandrine from SEIZE offers guestvocals for the limited 2CD box.
		That was going to come out on the label Daniel had for a short time (he just released one compilations I believe), but the project eventually just fell apart as did the label.

		At the same time, we hear another huge Sweden tour is on its way.
		But the album can of course be ordered on line and via import.
		The album will be delivered by the band's own label Rabid via Border in Sweden on January 17, with a price lower than normal.

		The aggressive sound matched the work of the label/artist collective Underground Resistance as the best techno to come out of Detroit in the early '90s, thanks to a slow-down in the work of past masters Atkins, May and Saunderson.
		The Plastikman project debuted in 1993 with two releases for +8: the seminal "Spastik" single and an album, Sheet One.
		Hawtin returned in 1996 his release schedule; during each month of the year, he issued a completely unadorned single recorded as Concept 1 (some were later collected on Concept 1 96:CD, mixed by Hawtin).

		In fact, if you close your eyes and wish hard enough, you just might trick yourself into believing it's a Klinik album.

		A lot of work and time goes into a website and a newsletter and its a minimal fee to pay to join the membership and also it helps everyone to keep up with our BHS friends.
		We have his scrapbooks and photo albums from that era, as well as his Barringer yearbook (he was the 1937 editor) -- he became a historian and saved everything....
		At any rate, if anyone remembers him or his sister, or is looking for photos of someone from that time, I'd love to hear from you.

		I've got the three singles and the 75 minutes album (which I ran across while I was visiting Montreal).
		The album was released with a bonus disc with an Acen mix and a Prodigy mix (the only reason I bought it, since I didn't know until I read the liner notes that Baby D was pretty much Acen as well).
		The first one is tracks from his 'Concepts' series of 12"s from '96 (one 12" a month for 12 months), and the second is some others (and one or two the same) played on a funny turntable (I kid you not).
