In 1907 Max Uhle was noted primarily for his extensive Peruvian archaeology, however under Alfred Kroeber at the University of California, Berkeley, he excavated the Emeryville shell mound in the San Francisco bay area.

Emancipation — which in Peruvian history means emancipation of the landholding class from ineffective Spanish control — was finally completed in December 1824, when General Antonio José de Sucre defeated the Spanish troops at the Battle of Ayacucho, ending Spanish rule in South America.
Owing to such chronic inflation, the Peruvian currency, the sol, was replaced by the Inti in mid-1985, which itself was replaced the nuevo sol ("new sol") in July 1991, at which time the new sol had a cumulative value of one billion old soles.

The Peruvian Air Force (Spanish: Fuerza Aerea del Peru, or FAP) is the aviation branch of the armed forces of Peru.
On May 20, 1929, the aviation divisions of the Peruvian army and navy were merged into the Peruvian Aviation Corps (CAP, Cuerpo de Aviación del Peru).
In 1938, the corps was renamed the Peruvian Aeronautical Corps (CAP, Cuerpo Aeronautico del Peru).

Discovered in 1937 by renowned Peruvian archaeologist Julio C. Tello, the site is best known for its megalithic architecture and engraved stone slabs, which depict graphic scenes of human sacrifice and death.
Cerro Sechin is part of a larger group of sites known as the Sechin Complex, a group of contemporaneous settlements in the Casma Valley that exhibit similar monumental public and ceremonial architecture, and which practiced small-scale irrigation agriculture.
The platform was constructed in several stages using conical adobes, or large sun-dried bricks with broad circular bases and tapered points, which were then set into clay mortar and plastered over to form wall surfaces.
