The Times Educational Supplement (TES) is the UK's leading publication covering the world of primary, secondary and further education, as well as being the market leader for teaching job vacancies.
TES is published by TSL Education, a division of News International until October 2005 when it was sold to Exponent, a private equity group.
The radical education campaigning poster "Eureka!" first coined the phrase there "oxbow lakes, quadratic equations and Shakespeare!" as a disparaging description of the current secondary education curriculum in the UK.

We might consider allowing pupils to spend half of the time they now spend on the literacy strategy on literacy, and the rest on art, science or sport - subjects that might stimulate more interest in literacy.
On pay and conditions, if we are going to be encouraging entrepreneurship, then we need to have a framework to pay our staff in a way that we consider necessary.
I wouldn't be in favour of giving all schools the ability to opt out of education legislation.

In Wales we now have the situation that the minority language is being imposed on all children.
