The control allows the image to be adjusted between a green and a magenta tint, with the correct hue lying somewhere in between.
On broadcast equipment, such as timebase correctors and studio monitors, this control is typically marked "phase," as it adjusts the phase of the color signal with respect to the luminance signal.
Fixing NTSC's tint problems was the primary technical objective during the development of the European PAL and SECAM color television standards.

Transistors 142 and 144 in turn are controlled as a function of the control voltage applied from tint control potentiometer 52 to the base of transistor 142 and the emitter of transistor 144 via terminal 4, follower transistor 160 and bias resistors 154, 155.
Resistor 237 of tint control stage 200 couples the P signal to that end of resistor 235 which is remote from the base input of transistor 234 of amplifier 230.
Moreover, control circuits 140 and 240 may comprise emitter coupled differential amplifier stages, and the roles of the amplifier stages 110, 130 and 210, 230 and the associated control circuits 140 and 240 may be reversed.

Since the NTSC color television standard is susceptible to color errors, there is a tint control on NTSC television sets, which allows the image hue to be corrected.
This is traditionally a knob but is today mostly available through an on-screen menu (OSD).
The control allows the image to be adjusted between a green and a violet tint, with the correct hue lying somewhere in between.

The tint control should not matter (if it does at this point, you have other chroma problems or an 'autocolor' switch is on limiting the range of some controls).

 Automotive Window Tint Tinting Software
Tint Tek 20/20 is window tint software that allows automotive tint shops or sign shops to cut specialty window tint film for passenger vehicles from precise pre-measured templates using a personal computer and a vinyl cutter.
Traditional window tinting is a laborious process in which the film must be measured and cut by hand, usually by placing the film against the car window and cutting out the pattern.
Tint Tek is so easy to use, anyone who can run a pc and a vinyl cutter can produce precise fits for any make or model.

As you move the tint control to one end of the spectrum, the face turns green; as you move it to the other extreme, the face turns magenta (red+blue).

In Camera Raw, the Temperature and Tint sliders (in the Adjust tab) and the eyedropper tool (in the Tool palette) are white-balance tools that let you neutralize any color cast in the lighting, but they’re also interesting as creative tools.
The Tint slider controls the axis that runs perpendicular to color temperature, so it’s essentially a green-magenta control—negative values add green, positive ones add magenta.
As with all the slider controls in Camera Raw, you can adjust Temperature and Tint by moving the sliders with the cursor, but for more precision, use the up- and down-arrow keys.
