While we didn't find a bird at the same nest we found them in last year, we did find a GOSHAWK nest not far from last year's nest that looked like it was more than likely going to be used this year--It had all the evidence-- downy feathers, new branches, and fresh evergreen sprigs.
At Tioghnioga WMA we first checked on a nest that had been a Red-Shouldered Hawk nest in 2001, but was taken over in 2002 by a Red-tailed Hawk.
On Friday, = another early warbler, a PINE WARBLER, was seen in the pine plantation = at the corner of Sixty Rd and Kellogg Rd in Three Rivers WMA.

About 3 years ago, I was paddling up the headwaters of the west branch of the Tioghnioga River near Preble, near where I-81 passes between Upper Little York Lake and Goodale Lake.
We were paddling up the stream from Goodale Lake, going around a bend, when my bow paddler, Carole, said in a hushed exclamation, "Mike, did you see that?" I hadn't.
Guess I won't be hiking or leaving my dogs in the yard any time soon.
