Tipperary Hill, sometimes known as Tipp Hill, is an area in the city of Syracuse, New York largely settled by immigrants from Ireland, especially from County Tipperary.
When the canal was finished many of the Irish settled west of Syracuse on a hill overlooking the canal.
On March 15, 2005, Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern visited Tipperary Hill, where he had his photo taken by the Green-on-Top traffic light, and ate at Coleman's Irish Pub.

County Tipperary (Contae Thiobraid Árann in Irish) is an area generally regarded as a county in the Republic of Ireland, and situated in the province of Munster.
Tipperary was the first Irish county to be established in the 13th century and is sometimes referred to as the Premier County, a description attributable to Thomas Davis, Editor of The Nation newspaper in the 1840s as a tribute to the nationalistic feeling in Tipperary and said that "where Tipperary leads, Ireland follows".
Tipperary is famous for its horse breeding industry and is the home of Coolmore Stud, which is the largest thoroughbred breeding operation in the world.

While Hill was in jail in Salt Lake City, he received a letter from Sam Murray in San Francisco requesting a song about the souplines created by the depressed economic conditions existing simultaneously with the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
The "soupline" song did spread beyond "Frisco," however, when with Hill's permission, it was adapted by Charles Ashleigh to fit conditions then existing in New York City.
