The TTD is following a systematic procedure for selling human hair by calling for open tenders every 60 days in which bidders from Chennai, Bangalore, Thanuku (Andhra Pradesh) and New Delhi participated.
Babu said the TTD would be calling for tenders for selling various categories -- first quality (5000 kg), second quality (24,150 kg), third quality (20,040 kg), grey (100 kg) and hundi (150 kg).
Stating that Devasthanams was processing the hair in a modern way and preserving them till they were sold, Babu said the higher income from selling the hair was largely possible due to various precautionary measures taken by the TTD.
