 Elijah
Also known as "The Tishbite," he is first introduced in the Bible in 1 Kings[?] 17:1 as delivering a message from the Lord to Ahab.
There is mention made of a town called Thisbe, south of Kadesh, but it is impossible to say whether this was the place referred to in the name given to the prophet.
The events of 2 Kings 2 may not be recorded in chronological order, and thus there may be room for the opinion that Elijah was still alive in the beginning of Jehoram's reign.

I was told by YAHUVEH and YAHUSHUA to lay two (2) fleeces and, if this man Elijah the Tishbite, is indeed one of the two witnesses, these fleeces shall come to pass, and we will shout it to the world through this ministry.
I want to openly repent and apologize to you, the people, and ask your forgiveness, as I have asked YAHUSHUA's forgiveness because I was told to get in contact with this man and introduce myself to him after I had a dream about him in 1999.
As you will see in my response to this man, Elijah the Tishbite, if these fleeces do not come to pass, it will prove that he is not one of the two witnesses and people are being led astray, and YAHUVEH is using this ministry to expose this lie.

Catholic Apologetics International - Robert Sungenis
He makes a blatant error in basing his conclusion of the supposition that it reads "Elijah the Tishbite." This is not correct.
In fact, this may have been the reason the Jews were confused regarding the real nature of Elijah's appearance, and missed his identity being fulfilled in John the Baptist (cf., Matt 16:14; 17:10).
Obviously, if they were looking for the "Tishbite" instead of John the Baptist, they would have been mislead by their own translation of the Hebrew text, and apparently so was Chrysostom.

Was there a reincarnated prophet of God? - Does God Exist? - SepOct04
As one reads John 1:21 it is apparent that the people in John's day did not understand the prophecies of the Old Testament about Elijah and John the Baptist, but this is not uncommon for people in John's day.
Luke 1:17 has already stated, John the Baptist had the spirit and power of Elijah, and not that he was the literal Elijah the Tishbite.
John the Baptist was not the resurrected or even reincarnated Elijah the Tishbite but took on the prophetic role and spirit of Elijah.

We conclude, therefore, those who are declaring a message of judgment are doing a work, the antitype of Elijah, the Tishbite, and those proclaiming a message: "the Kingdom nigh at hand" are doing a work, the antitype of Elijah, John the Baptist.
However, since these messages are brought by inspiration, they must originate with one person after the manner of Elijah, the Tishbite, and Elijah, John the Baptist.
We have:    (1) Elijah the Tishbite who declared, "How long halt ye between two opinions?" 1 Kings 18:21, in his work of purifying the priesthood and attempts to bring Israel back to God and establish a righteous Kingdom.

Assuming that a town is alluded to as Elijah's native place, it is not necessary to infer that it was itself in Gilead, as many have imagined.
The commentators and lexicographers, with few exceptions, adopt the name "Tishbite" as referring to the place Thisbe in Naphtali which is found in the Septuagint text of Tobit 1:2.

I K 17:1 "And EliJah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word."
If you look up the definition of the word, most translators and historians assume (as did the translators of the LXX scroll - one of the oldest manuscripts) that it means "one who is from, or is an inhabitant of.....["Tishbeh"]".
If "Tishbite" means "sojourner", and "EliJah" is "Separator", then God's "Devoter" was "Traveling" among them in-the-midst of this "wilderness" of "sin" we call "reality".
