TOWN Mayor Gil Rillera of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay province announced that the construction of new school buildings in four high schools in his town will start this month in time for the opening of school year 2007-2008.
He said the appropriation includes a 15 percent counterpart from the provincial government of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Of the four secondary schools Titay has, three are barangay high schools and they are located in the barangays of San Antonio, Palomoc and Malagandis, according to Rillera.

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province - The Barandilla Community Fellowship (or WCG Ipil Church) was privileged to host some 163 brethren coming from the areas of the Zamboanga peninsula namely: Pagadian City, Navalan, Sindangan, Bogabongan, Titay and Zamboanga City for the Festival 2005 from October 28 to 31, 2005.
Joveno Jaralve of Zamboanga city church gave the message about “why do we continue to attend the festival” which is not because of compulsion or obligation but because of our of love to God and reunion with his people.
This is the first time that our Zamboanga Peninsula brethren were able to celebrate the festival together in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay with Pastor Bert Colona as the festival coordinator from October 28 to 31.

Pilar Rodriguez, project officer of Fundacion Humanismo y Democracia, a charity arm of Spain’s Agencia Española de Cooperacion Internacional, said the fund is expected to benefit at least 42 public elementary schools in the towns of Ipil and Titay in Zamboanga Sibugay and one high school in this city.
She said part of the program, which is jointly implemented with the Philippine Business for Social Progress, will cover the purchase of additional chairs, school supplies and scholarship assistance for poor but deserving students.
