Capitalization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For any word written in a language whose alphabet has distinct cases (such as the Latin, Greek, or Cyrillic alphabets), capitalization (or capitalisation) is the writing of a word with its first letter as a majuscule (upper case letter) and the remaining letters in minuscules (lower case letters).
Capitalized words may also be said to be in title case, since traditionally most words in titles of books, films, etc. are capitalized.
In Unicode, a few letters have a separate title case form, where the Unicode character for the first letter of a capitalized word differs depending on whether the whole word is in upper case or just the initial letter (see Croatian and polytonic Greek below).

At the Mayors' Forum on Title VI held in Detroit, Michigan in July 1998, EPA Administrator Carol Browner committed to conduct studies to determine whether the guidance proved to be a barrier to the redevelopment of brownfields.
To begin to understand whether fear of Title VI complaints was having a "chilling effect" on developers and investors, causing them to shy away from considering brownfields properties at these seven Pilots, case study participants were asked what the major barriers were to conducting redevelopment projects.
While it is impossible to say whether fear of Title VI complaints is creating hesitation in developers across the country or those not experienced in brownfields redevelopment, the interviewees at the seven case study Pilots felt that it was neither a driving nor impeding force in their redevelopment decisions or activities.

The Samuel Griffith Society: Volume 6: Chapter Five
In substance what was at stake was whether native title survived in Western Australia, the validity of the Land (Titles and Traditional Usage) Act 1993 (WA) ("the WA Act"), the validity of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) ("the NTA") and the operation of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) ("the RDA").
Having decided that native title had not been abolished in Western Australia as a necessary consequence of the establishment of the State, the Court took up the question whether the WA Act was inconsistent with the Racial Discrimination Act, specifically section 10(1), and, if so, to what extent and with what effect.
Returning then to the Second Native Title Case, the conclusion at which the Court arrived on inconsistency was that the WA Act was wholly inoperative by reason of section 10(1) of the RDA.

 Yorta Yorta native title case
The Yorta Yorta people claimed native title to an area of land and waters in Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales and had appealed from a decision of the Federal Court dismissing the claim.
The case does however indicate that it may be difficult for claimants to establish native title, particularly over areas of land where there has been intensive European settlement.
However, the findings relating to proof of native title in the Yorta Yorta case, together with the High Court's earlier findings relating to the extinguishment of native title in the Ben Ward case, will make it increasingly difficult for claimants to succeed in obtaining a meaningful determination of native title.

In theory, the College Sports Council wants Title IX to be about opportunity, saying women should have the chance to compete if there is interest, but that male athletes should not be turned away if there aren't enough female athletes.

Y and H Corp. The Supreme Court unanimously held that Title VII's "numerical threshold does not circumscribe federal-court subject-matter jurisdiction." Instead, the statute's numerical threshold relates to the "substantive adequacy" of a Title VII claim, and therefore cannot be raised after a trial on the merits.
Meaning that in order for small entities that employee fewer than 15 people, to enjoy the protection afforded to them by Congress, a small business must object to a Title VII claim based on the employee-numerosity requirement before a claim is tried on its merits.
If a small business does not make this objection before the conclusion of a trial, they may be found liable for a Title VII claim even if they fail to meet the 15 employee numerical threshold.
