Title sequence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A title sequence, in a television program or film, is shown at the beginning which displays the opening credits.
In The Simpsons the title sequence will always have two variables- the so-called "flboard gag" where Bart Simpson writes a different sentence on a flboard in his classroom, and the "couch gag" where the Simpson family sits on the couch in a different, wacky way.
Film title sequences are often considerably longer than the title sequences of television shows, and are often much simpler as well, focusing mostly on listing the credit names of all the actors and producers.

Catch Me If You Can, Auto Focus, Far From Heaven and the Art of Retro Title Sequences
The title sequence's visuals mark both the period in which the film was set and the ironic distance the film upholds between that era and its point of production.
The title sequence simultaneously confirms the film's frame of reference for the cinephilic viewers who will recognise its source material, whilst the rich colours and Elmer Bernstein's lavish orchestral score create a heightened emotional environment that signal to all the sensibility of this singular viewing experience.
The title sequences for each of these films may indeed be distinctive, but they are intrinsically part of the whole package, linking the viewing experience with the expectations generated by the studio publicity.

 The Art of Film Titles
The title sequence has come to rival commercials and music videos as the leading indicator of contemporary visual style: dense and multi-layered—invariably more challenging than the film that follows it.
After the implementation of sound, titles began to function as a transition: taking on the responsibility of displaying the movie's title, the name of the director and establishing the hierarchy of actors.
Main titles are often the last thing on a director's mind, and for producers they are generally something to get out of the way as cheaply as possible.

In this case it looks like a FASTA file contains a set of sequence records and each sequence record has a title line (also called a description line or a comment line) and a sequence, which may be folded over multiple lines.
The sequences are identical except for how the sequence is split across multiple lines.
The test code is simple; if the readline() for the title returns the empty string then it's the end of file so return None.

MAIN TITLE SEQUENCE FOR HBO'S CARNIVÀLE — Sept. 15, 2003 — HBO's dramatic new series Carnivàle debuted last night, and its opening title sequence embodied the most powerful visual magic the artisans of Clio-winning Los Angeles visual effects and design company A52 have ever conjured.
Early this year, the strength of the company's reel afforded A52 a chance to pitch their ideas on the series’ titles to a group of executives that included Carnivàle co-producer and post-production producer Todd London.
The live action footage of the Carnivale title artwork in the sand was supervised by Patrick Murphy and Vonetta Taylor and filmed by director of photography James Glennon on location in the Santa Clarita Valley.
