When Masterton’s Titoki Manor rest-home announced its imminent closure at the end of May, up to 16 residents and 25 staff were faced with the prospect of finding a new home and new jobs.
Fortunately, Presbyterian Support Central’s Kandahar Elderly Care was able to provide places for 6 residents who moved three days after the announcement to close was made.
It’s also been wonderful to be able to provide job opportunities for some of the Titoki staff whose familiar faces are a comfort to the former Titoki Manor residents”.

On Saturday afternoon they played at the 18 hole Titoki Golf Course, a picturesque course featuring a fast running stream, a major hazard which comes into play on eight of the 18 holes, making ball scoops an essential item in the golf bag.
The game on Saturday began with lunch and compulsory champagne at the Block House before the LOFT Masters made their way to the Titoki Course ready for tee off at 1.30p.m.
Unfortunately the start of play was delayed and the game had to be shortened and eventually abandoned because of failing light.
