This epoch is considered as fundamental concerning the definitive human sittings, finding traces from this period in: Yautepec, Cuernavaca, Cuautla, Xochitepec, Tlaquiltenango, Tepalcingo, Zacualpan, Tenango, Mazatepec, Tepoztlán, Tlaltizapán, Amacuzac, Jojutla, Tres Marías, Chimalacatlán, Xochicalco, Santa María Zacatepec, Oaxtepec and Chalcatzingo, where the “olmeca” and local pottery has been studied.
The “Tlahuicas”, one of these tribes, came to Morelos and founded the first domains in Yecapixtla, Tlaquiltenango and, may be, Ocuituco, mixing with some tribes that already lived in Morelos.
They were guided by their god to a fertile region called Tamoanchan and stayed at Chimalacatlan, now the Tlaquiltenango council.

We were able to take advantage of religious rituals, such as the fair at Tlaquiltenango that celebrates la Candalaria, when women dress up the Baby Jesus to be blessed at the church, and the celebration of carnival with Chinelos dancing in the streets of Tepoztlán.
We photographed market days in Tlayacapan and Huitzilac, and you can imagine a group of 25 photographers gathering on the church steps of the various villages at 7 am, in time to catch the morning light.

While Montoya Ortega claims the government promised a definite closure within 90 days of their protest, Paloma Estrada isn’t so sure.
In her comments during an Other Campaign meeting in nearby Tlaquiltenango on April 14, she mentioned that while the closure of the dump is important, she believes that the solution to the health problems and other contamination issues will only come after significant long-term ecological and bacterial tests are complete.
After the first set of preliminary tests came back saying the area was contaminated, the Independent Human Rights Commission of Morelos began working with local authorities, trying to get soil, water, and air tests done to be able to quantify the true damage of the environment.
