	TokenRing driver for MCA-cards
		I have been looking for quite some time for a driver to a reasonable fast MCA TokenRing card.
		Currently im using a Tropic Based card, which we all know is not the fastest availble.

		A TokenRing can be wired as a circle or a star, with the workstations wired to a central wiring center, or to multiple wiring centers.
		Whatever the wiring, a TokenRing LAN always works logically as a circle, with the token passing around the circle from one workstation to another.
		TokenRings are typically installed in centralized closets, with loops snaking to served workstations.

		In order to capture TokenRing traffic other than Unicast traffic to and from the host on which you're running Ethereal, Multicast traffic, and Broadcast traffic, the adapter will have to be put into promiscuous mode, so that the filter mentioned above is switched off and all packets received are delivered to the host.
		TokenRing adapter drivers on UN*X probably always support promiscuous mode if the adapter is capable of it (they probably won't be able to support it on an adapter on which it's been permanently disabled).
		Traditionally, TokenRing networks were shared networks, meaning all packets passed through, and thus were received by, all nodes on that network.

		Yes they are in the local.arp file with the MAC Address of the firewall.
		I already made some traces on this > Tokenring segment, but I have never seen a arp request for a static > translated IP address.

	Optimizing Network Performance
		TokenRing was a development of IBM that was handed over to the IEEE where it became a formal standard under the 802.5 committee.
		TokenRing can still be had in 4MB as well as 16MB options though the latter has become far more common.
		TokenRing allows up to seven bridges to be used to extend the network, though a large network using TokenRing can result in turnaround delays from the circulation of the single token.

		Who has for me a bootdisk for booting a Portable with an ibm tokenring 16/4 pcmcia card to acces norton ghost on a windows 2000 server ?
		Poke around the web, there are sites that tell you how to go about the process of creating a network boot disk.....
		I am in the same situation.I have mannaged to create a ibmtok 16/4 for pci and that works 100%.Using pcmcia ibm tok 16/4 turbo pc card fails on driver load,using same client software.only changes is your driver folder which i have checked over and over on ibm site.

		I think this was turned down due to differences in the MAC layer; but > today, at work, I was told it's at least posible to route ether-token on NT, > because that functionality lies in the data link layer.
		How you'd best do the routing depends on your situation, but we are using proxy arp entries to make it look as if the tokenring net is on the ethernet segment.
		This is required because the router to the internet does not know about the tr subnet.

		Hi, I am busy setting up a fire-wall, using two tokenring cards.
		With modules, are you supposed to load the same module multiple times for more tokenring cards ?
