Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney theme park opened outside the United States.
Tokyo Disney Resort has three main entertainment sections: Tokyo Disneyland; Tokyo DisneySea; and Ikspiari, which is a variation of the Downtown Disney shopping, dining, and entertainment area found at the Disney resorts in California and Florida.
Tokyo Disneyland is based on its sister parks in Anaheim and Lake Buena Vista.

Disney Sea is worth the trip (trans-Pacific airfares now are pretty comparable to some trans-continental ones).
We didn’t go to Tokyo Disneyland, seeing as we wanted to experience other things, and the similarities between Tokyo and Anaheim are many, the differences — other than the language — are (I think) rather few in number.
Tokyo Disney Sea is well worth a visit, and it would definitely get my vote next year as my “Top Park.” Check it out!

Disney has the talent to create DisneySea, but not the market (or so they believe) for a project of such scale in America.
As long as Michael Eisner is the CEO of Disney the possibility of a DisneySea theme park being built in the US is slim to none and parks similar to the liberty ship syle of DCA will only be built.
Maybe at this moment he is planning to start a Disney franchise of theme parks across the US just like McDonalds, or he is planning on buying another media group that would be my guess.

The Walt Disney Studios is the second phase of the construction originally planned for the Disneyland Paris resort, and has been being built alongside the existing Magic Kingdom theme park.
Following the construction of the original Disneyland theme park the resort's operating profits were so poor that the second planned phase was shelved until the park started to pay its own way and bring in a profit.
Following a share release announced in November 1999, and after two years of construction, the Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris finally opened it's doors on the 16th of March 2002, opened by Michael D. Eisner, Roy E. Disney, and of course - Mickey Mouse.

The 5 best rides at Disney sea, a fairly lengthy article I was a bit surprised since in the past Disney magazine has given nothing but little one paragraph blurbs to Disney sea stuff.
Some of the pictures and descriptions for the Disney sea article just so make me want to see it for myself (oh sorry I forgot its actually 5 best rides in the tokyo parks; they also cover pooh and the castle mystery tour).
I was impressed they finally broke the ice so to speak, in talking about the Tokyo parks.

A late post, but just to say that I went to Tokyo Disney Sea this weekend.
An interesting aside is that Tokyo Disney Sea is built around themes rather than films, and with the exception of Ariel the Mermaid, and that ‘Under the Sea’ track, there was a dearth of recent Disney characters, but then, can you name a Disney character from the last 8 years or so?
However, despite Disney’s decline, the parks are still a good day out, but at 5,500 yen to get in, make the most of it.

The tape is 45 minutes and serves as a terrific companion to the Tokyo Disney Resort video travelogue of Tokyo DisneySea.
This is the best show in the park (or in ANY Disney park), but comes across poorly on video.
Some of the videography is less than optimum, like "Under the Sea." But Sail Away and Water Carnival are very well done.
