The Tokyo Kyuko Electric Railway (東京急行電鉄 Tōkyō Kyūkō Dentetsu), better known as Tokyu, is a major private railway operator in Tokyo, Japan.
It was formed on September 2, 1922 as the Meguro-Kamata Electric Railway, and was later known as the Tokyo-Yokohama Electric Railway before gaining its current name in 1943.
From 1944 to 1948, it also owned the companies now known as the Keihin Kyuko Electric Railway, Keio Electric Railway, and Odakyu Electric Railway.

The Odakyu Electric Railway (小田急電鉄 Odakyu Dentetsu) is a major private railway company in Tokyo, Japan, best known for its express trains from Tokyo to Odawara and Hakone.
On May 31, 1944, Odakyu merged into the Tokyo-Yokohama Electric Railway company (now Tokyu), which controlled all private railway services west and south of Tokyo by the end of World War II.
