Tom Arnold was a writer who appeared regularly as the character "Arnie Thomas" in the popular television sitcom Roseanne (which debuted in 1988).
Arnold and Barr divorced in 1994, and their restaurant closed in 1995.

As of 2004, Tom Arnold is the co-host of Fox Sports Net's talk show Best Damn Sports Show Period and he also provides the voice for Arby's "Oven Mitt" character in television commercials.
In early January 2005, Arnold become the main host of The Best Damn Sports Show Period in a new revised version that resembles a late night talk show (note: as of March 2005 he will only be appearing on this show occasionally; source: radio interview).
