Mastered by Powell and Tom Grimley, former moog player with The Rentals between 2002 and 2003, the songs are not chronologically ordered, but are merely arranged to paint a landscape of musical folklore.

Rachel Haden is one of the four founding members of The Rentals first incarnation "That's Incredible!" (photo) Along with Rod Cervera and weezer member's Pat Wilson and Matt Sharp, the four musicians came together in Tom Grimley's Poop Alley Studio to record a collection of raw, but energetic pop songs.
That Dog and The Rentals shared many common elements over the years including: Rachel's sister Petra and her distinct harmonizing and violin style, as well as producer and friend Tom Grimley, with both bands working at his Poop Alley Studio.
With a desire for a strong shift in direction and significant lyrical changes, nearly all of the original vocal takes from the "That's Incredible!" recording sessions were to be scrapped.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they sometimes aired it during the Commander Tom show (now that was the most AWESOME weekly kids TV hour ever -- thanks Commander Tom!) I hope the new ones are just as free -- someone needs to bittorrent them double-quick!
Shepd and grimley: Commander Tom, at least when I was a kid (the 60's and 70's), was on every afternoon on Channel 7 in Buffalo.
Both shows, I think, showed Davey and Goliath, the old Looney Tunes crowd, as well as Gumby, which I always found to be strangely creepy when I was a kid.

Produced by Tom Grimley (Beck, Rentals, Geraldine Fibbers), Songs for Peeps is far more self-assured than its 3-year-old predecessor; the band (which also includes drummer Patrick Simpson) has jelled considerably in the interplay department, and Grimley's experienced ear has helped put Sissy Bar in touch with its latent conciseness.
With the notable exception of "Daisy Putter," a five-minute epic with a boys'-chorus coda, the album's songs are as cool and crisp as a York Peppermint Patty.
