Tom Henke - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thomas Anthony (Tom) Henke (born December 21, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri) was a Major League Baseball pitcher.
On the mound, Henke was easily recognizable because of the large glasses he wore at a time when many players were beginning to use contact lenses instead.
Tom Henke was named to the All-star team twice: 1987, when he led the American League with 34 Saves and 62 games finished, and 1995, his last season, and only season in the National League, in which he also won the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award.

Henke rejoined the Rangers as a free agent after the '92 season, and proved he was still a top echelon fireman the following year, as he notched 40 saves with a 2.91 ERA during the '93 campaign.
Though the opposition may have felt that Henke was not the pitcher that he was in the 1980s, he still dominated in his first (and only) year in the National League, earning 36 saves with a 1.82 ERA.
