Tom Hood (January 19, 1835 - November 20, 1874), English humorist, son of the poet Thomas Hood, was born at Lake House, Wanstead, Essex.
After attending University College School and Louth Grammar School he entered Pembroke College, Oxford, in 1853, where he passed all the examinations for the degree of BA., but did not graduate.
Hood drew with considerable facility, among his illustrations being those of several of his father's comic verses.

Son of a London bookseller, Hood apprenticed as an engraver, but was compelled by ill health to turn to writing.
Despite the contemporary popularity of his triple-decker novel Tylney Hall (1834) and his reputation as a humourist, Tom Hood is best known as the author of "The Song of the Shirt," which he published anonymously in the extra Christmas number of London's newest and most celebrated comic weekly magazine, Punch, in 1843.
Based on a previous account by Punch editor Douglas Jerrold of a woman accused of pawning articles belonging to her employer, the poem attacks the exploitation of the cheap labour of seamstresses, the poem was quickly reprinted in The Times, and translated into German, French, Italian, and Russian for newspaper publication abroad.

Hood summarized the Board of Trustees meeting of September 29, especially his formal remarks on recruitment, leaves, teaching evaluations, etc. At the Board meeting, the matter of bylaws arose, especially on the presidential.
Hood reported that UTC now has a committee looking at the advisability of converting from a headship to a chairmanship system and suggested that it might be useful to investigate the matter at UTK.

My last year at Tom Hood was in 5A (almost totally a boys’ class, just three girls).
I have fond memories of Tom Hood (‘Fluff’, ‘Percy’ and ‘The Bag’, God rest her Soul).

Ken is correct, the ES-65 is the hood made for the Mk I lens, but the newer one will fit as well.
However, the new hood relies on an adapter ring that makes putting it on and take it off much more difficult.
I suppose that, but if someone could confirm that, The hood for the early 50/1.8 is the ES-65.
