Jones was born in Spokane, Washington, and later moved with his parents and three siblings to the Los Angeles, California area.
Jones credits this cartoon as the film where he "learned how to be funny." The Dover Boys is also one of the first uses of Stylized animation in American film, breaking away from the more realistic animation styles influenced by the Disney Studio.
Jones' intellectualism, writing ability, and capacity for self-analysis made him an historical authority as well as a major contributor to the development of the animation genre throughout the 20th century.

Tom Jones, as played by Albert Finney, who at 27 was way to old to play the part, is a fun-loving guy who sleeps his way across the British country side before wedding Sophia Western (Susannah York), who doesn’t seem to have a problem with his past and probable future promiscuity.
It would make more sense for Sophia to reject Tom at the end of the movie since the film’s Tom Jones is not at all apologetic for his affairs nor does he seem to be particular in love with Sophia, and Sophia cannot expect fidelity from Tom.
Another problem I had with the movie was the gimmicking, old fashioned movie tricks such as an assortment of wipes, stop-motion photography, fast-motion, etc. which probably seemed ingenious to audiences in 1963 but now they not only look incredible cheap and cheesy, but also seem totally out of place.
