Governor Macan continues, “We didn’t race in Portugal, but our family would cruise and Melissa would sail with me. In fact, she is continuing with her sailing here in the BVI and has also taken up diving, both of which she enjoys.
Macan grew up in Pennsylvania where she attended Penn State University and holds a BA and MBA in Spanish.

The 2004 Royal British Virgin Islands Governor’s Cup was the inaugural race of Governor Tom Macan, at the helm of his own boat, Juno, a Cape Dory 25.
After a short postponement, the cruising class, consisting of three boats started their race of five legs at 11:10 and the ten racing class boats started on a seven leg jaunt at 11:15.
