Tom Nook doesn't have a giant plan to destroy or enslave the world, or to usurp the king, or become all-powerful.
Though Tom Nook's one and only contest match was in a match in which he was guaranteed to get blown out, most AC fans were simply happy with Nook's making the field.
Nook was expectedly blown out by Crono, and he hasn't made the field since.

He says to plant plants around his Nook's Cranny/ Way/ ington, I plant them around my house and save a tiny little rose for him to put in front of his door.
Nook tells me to send a message, I make it say "I hate you, you stupid neighbor!!" in it and the person I send it to says it's good.
You always have to wait for him to talk and it's now gut instinct to tap the blue arrow rapidly when he speaks.
