Tom Ruegger is an American animation writer, producer and director.
Nathan Ruegger is the son of writer/producer/director Tom Ruegger, who speacilsed was a major force in working on some of the most successful cartoons of the 1990s including Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Taz-Mania and Batman.
Tom Bodett is an American author, voice actor and radio host, and is also the current spokesman for the hotel chain Motel 6 who is famous for coining the phrase Well leave the light on for you.

Tom grew up in Metuchen, New Jersey, and attended Metuchen High School, where he served as Student Council President, co-captain of his school's football and track teams, and editorial cartoonist for the highschool newspaper.
Tom attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in English.

It seemed appropriate to release part II of the Epic Tom Ruegger Interview on the eve of the release of two of the most Epic DVD Sets Ever.
But unpaid endorsements aside, I last left Tom Ruegger as he was about to tell the tale of Tiny Toons' formation.
Whenever I can get Ruegger again (which may be next month or next year, depending) the interview will continue with Tiny Toons' best episodes.

The rest of the characters were less successful.
Mindy and Buttons was a variation of the tired old 'runaway child and victim babysitter' scenario that has been done by Popeye, Tom and Jerry and Roger Rabbit to name a few (although one episode brilliantly referenced this with look-alikes of all these characters chasing babies around a construction site).
Goodfeathers, although amusing initially, was a one joke wonder that really went over the heads of anyone who wasn't familiar with the films it parodied and Rita and Runt didn't seem to even have one joke to keep it going.

I called Tom Ruegger a half dozen times and he never got back to me, despite the fact my messages said that Steven Spielberg told me to call.
Years ago, Tom Ruegger was asked by Steven Spielberg to come up with new Warner Brothers cartoons.
Ruegger wanted to come up with a new version of Bugs Bunny's famous catch phrase "What's up, Doc?" but all he could come up with was "Hello Nurse!" It just didn't make any sense for Buster to say "Hello Nurse," so the whole idea was dropped.

One of the regulars (Ralph the Guard) was a recurring character in the later episodes of "Tiny Toon Adventures" (1990); also, several other characters have made cameo appearances, and the theme song from it shows up occasionally as well.
