Tom Tryon was an American film and television actor, as well as author of several science-fiction, horror, and mystery novels.
During the 1970s, Tryon was in a romantic relationship with Clive Clerk, one of the original cast members of "A Chorus Line" and an interior designer who decorated Tryon's Central Park West apartment, which was featured in Architectural Digest.
Tryon was also involved with Casey Donovan/Cal Culver while still maintaining his relationship with Clerk.

Sci-fi fans will remember Tryon in what is now considered one of the more literate (although you couldn't tell by its crackpot title) sci-fi films of the era, I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958).
Tryon worked steadily in television and films, and got what everyone thought was his big film break in Otto Preminger's The Cardinal (1963), but the film turned out to be one of the major failures of the 1960s.
Tryon later had a relationship, albeit short-lived, with Calvin Culver (aka Casey Donovan), a well-known star of gay porn films.

He is often misidentified as the son of silent screen actor Glen Tryon; his actual father was one Arthur Lane Tryon, a clothier whose lineage in Connecticut predates the Salem witch trials.
In 1962, Tom Tryon was cast to play the role of Stephen Burkett ("Adam") in the unfinished Marilyn Monroe-Dean Martin comedy film, Something's Got to Give, directed by George Cukor, but lost that role after Monroe was fired from the movie.
