Hokkaido is an excellent place for a bicycle tour, as the roads are exceptionally wide and the scenery is wonderful.
Also, Hokkaido is a very popular place for motorcycle tourists, so there are a lot of extra conviences like 'rider houses' (extremely affordable lodges for motorcyclists) which can also be taken advantage of by bicyclists.
I decided that it would be a waste to hurry out of Hokkaido, which is renowned for its natural beauty and delicious foods, so I cycled out of Tomakomai instead of taking the train to Wakkanai, which I reached one week later.
