In 1447 a certain Tomasz from Laznin (Lazin, today in Lowicz county, Oszkowice parish, and in the 16th century the minor nobility the Lazinskis lived there, also owning land in the adjoining villages) acquired from Andrzej Piwo the village of Zamoscie and Wierzbie, in what was then the province of Belz.
It is surely the son of this Tomasz, Maciej, that served in the Hungarian army during the reign of King Matyasz and fought with the Tatars during the reign of Olbracht.
He married Anna Herburt of Miziniec (Mizyniec, in Przemysl county), and by her had a son born in 1541 in Skokowki, who was later a commander and chancellor.

In the 14th century village of Sitaniec there are some interesting relicts, such as a belfry built in the rococo style in 1740 and old pieces of furniture from a 17th century church that are now plaeed in the local ehurch, built in neoroman style in 1907-1913 by Maurycy Zamoyski.
There is a picture of St. Bartholomew, painted most probabły by Łukasz Smuglewiez, an artist who worked for Tomasz Antoni Zamoyski in the 1st half of the 18th century.
At the cemetery located 400m from the church there are sepulchral sculptures of high artistic value.
